I hope everyone enjoyed a restful holiday season and festive new year!

As we are already well into January, WTS Colorado is busy preparing for two major upcoming events: the WTS Colorado Annual Awards Gala and the 2012 WTS International Conference.

The Annual Awards Gala, Thursday, February 16th, is WTS Colorado’s premier event of the year where transportation projects and individuals working in the industry are acknowledged for their dedication to WTS Colorado as an organization as well as for efforts in further developing and implementing an efficient, sustainable, connected transportation system throughout the state.

The WTS Colorado Gala offers transportation professionals at all levels the opportunity to network with industry leaders and celebrate 2011 successes at a fabulous party benefitting the WTS Colorado Scholarship Fund. So, mark your calendar and be sure to have your ticket to this must attend event! If your organization typically receives Gala tickets through the WTS Colorado Sponsorship Program, be sure to touch base with Karen Good soon!

The 2012 WTS International Conference comes to Denver just a few short months from now May 9-11th. Conference Co-Chairs Carrie Wallis and Chris Proud have been working for several months now with a plethora of WTS Colorado volunteers to highlight Colorado’s many transportation successes as well as to bring transportation professionals, innovators and projects from around the world to Denver. The excitement and energy of the Conference Committee is impressive which leaves me no doubt that Colorado will deliver the best WTS International Conference to date! If you are interested in getting involved with the Conference Committee be sure to read this information.

In addition to these two major events, WTS Colorado is working to deliver a variety of programs and opportunities for its members in 2012 to further develop their knowledge of the industry, network with other professionals and develop the professional skills necessary to succeed. WTS Colorado is working hard for all of its members and continues to be the premier organization for transportation professionals in the state. If you are not a member or know someone interested in becoming a member feel free to contact myself or Emily Silverman, WTS Colorado Membership Chair. I encourage all of you to become members and get involved!

Finally, a huge thank you to all of the WTS Colorado volunteers! Whether you are working on the Gala, the Conference, the upcoming book club, our fabulous new website, or any of the other many volunteer efforts, your dedication to WTS Colorado is what makes this organization so successful. Your commitment, energy and enthusiasm are appreciated more than you know!

I am excited about WTS Colorado’s calendar for 2012 and I look forward to seeing you all at the WTS Colorado Gala next month!

Best,
Crissy
